What do we mean by Transformational Worship?
When people gather for worship, God meets them in their worship, which is to say that God is fully present during worship. Further, something should happen during the worship experience that changes a person in some matter. We believe that this change is brought on by the Holy Spirit who works in us to draw us closer to God and each other. Significantly, God—through the worship experience seeks to spiritually transform us to be more like the person of Jesus Christ. Perhaps, it is through softening our hearts in some manner -or- helping a person make a decision that they have been struggling with (hopefully a wise decision is made). Maybe it’s striving toward the act of forgiveness or even accepting forgiveness from someone. Regardless, all of this leads to the phrase: Spiritual Formation, which is involves the process of allowing the Holy Spirit to work in us and through us for the purpose of bringing others into a right relationship with God—one of shalom.
